DuPontTM Kapton® polyimide film is an excellent choice for insulating wires in UHV and we have a wide range of cables, using this material. We also offer cables with PEEK or PTFE insulation.
We can supply all of the connector types for feedthroughs from Allectra and even ready made cables.

Insulated wires
e offer several types of insulated wires suitable for UHV conditions.
DuPontTM Kapton® polyimide film is the most commonly used insulation material, but we also offer PTFE and PEEK coated wires.
Kapton® polyamide film can be used for temperatures up to 250º C. Because it is porous, there are no problems with trapped volumes.
It is available in various forms:
- Dipped wires: are a good choice, if the parts need no or little movement. These are the cheapest types. Stripping is difficult.
- For radiation environment and temperatures above 260° C: cradiation resistant (-RAD) wires or dipped wires can be used.
- For higher voltage applications: the Caburn UHV® qualities or the RAD qualities are the best choice.
- If flexibility is required: multi strand types should be used. These are the typical wires for connecting sensors, motors etc. Stripping is easy.

Ready Made Cables
llectra offers a full range of vacuum cables, including both standard types and cables made to customers’ specifications. The standard cable lengths is 0.5 m, but we can also supply longer lengths.
